MEET JODI, PLANET REHAB BOARD MEMBER

Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? What do you do professionally?

I’m Jodi, from just outside Columbus Ohio, soon to be from Bocas del Toro, Panama. I’ve been working in Design and Marketing for over 25 years. Most of my clients are non-profits, community organizations, and political candidates.

How/when did you get involved with Planet Rehab? What is your role with the group?

I’ve been traveling to Bocas del Toro several times a year for the past 3 years and first visited Green Acres Chocolate Farm and Botanical Gardens in early 2021. Gary, Planet Rehab’s founder, gives tours of the organic cocoa farm which highlight sustainable practices, the seriousness of climate change, and the urgency for us all to take action. I was inspired not only to make changes in my daily life, but to become deeper involved. I help Planet Rehab with branding and marketing - basically making sure everything we put out there looks good and supports our mission.

What is your favorite program that Planet Rehab is working on and why?

I love the Just One Tree program - it’s not only about reforestation, but building community partnerships, and educating folks who participate in the tree plantings on the ecosystems and species who depend on the Almendro trees in the Panamanian rainforests.

What motivates you and inspires you to be part of the solution?

I’m an optimist, which is hard when the situation of the planet is in such a dire state. I feel I MUST DO SOMETHING. And working with Planet Rehab is one way I can stay engaged and give back.  

What’s something that not everyone knows about you?

I LOVE going to EDM shows and festivals. I average about 10 per year. My favorites this year were going to Detroit’s Movement Festival and seeing Odesza’s first show of their 2023 tour - both were epic!
